Behind the Leash: June Edition
Our Monthly Newsletter for Vegas Parents & Professionals 💌
This month’s newsletter is coming a bit later than usual as I share that the love of my life, Lily Pugstable passed away unexpectedly on May 20th. It’s still something I’m processing, and I know many of you loved her too. She will always be part my story, which is why I’m so proud to have her included in my revised business logo as a lasting piece of what she helped build 13 years ago.
On a brighter note, Darla has been doing really well lately — watching her personality come out more each day has been so comforting… plus Teddy’s adoption is pending, which I’m really hopeful that this next chapter turns out to be the right forever match for him 🤞🐶
And with that… here’s what’s been going on lately at Mindful Dog Mom 🐾
Sniffles (named by The Animal Foundation) but we nicknamed her “Little Miss” came to us about two weeks ago. She was at risk for euthanasia due to hind end weakness, and as many of you know, Lily made that a soft spot for me! She’s doing GREAT on Myos and we submitted a DNA test, but I’m pretty sure she’s a Frenchie/Pug/Bostin mix… what is your guess?

May’s highlight: four different families, one viral cloud bed, and absolutely zero hesitation about who gets the best spot. This investment has quickly become the most fought-over (and loved) hangout in the pug house and honestly… I wouldn’t have it any other way! ☁️🐾
💖 Happy Pride Month from Darla Pugstable! 🏳️🌈
June always feels like a soft but powerful reminder of why visibility, compassion, and community matter so much. It’s a celebration of love in all its forms—and a chance to honor the freedom people have fought for just to exist as themselves, openly and without apology 🦄
Honestly… if there’s one thing dogs have always understood better than we do, it’s that love doesn’t care about categories. All breeds welcome, always 🐶
And if this isn’t something you personally celebrate, that’s okay. Our space is about kindness, respect, and letting people (plus their pups) exist exactly as they are—no pressure, no judgment, just a shared understanding that everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and included 🐾
Now that you’re all caught up… stay tuned…
because there’s a lot more unfolding very soon! ✨
